 Subject: Job Opening for Entry Level Medical HP

 Mayo Medical Center, Rochester, MN, has a temporary (1 to 1.5 years) position
 for an entry level health physicist, possibly leading to a regular, full time
 position. Minimum requirements are a B.S. in Health Physics (M.S. preferred).
 A working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet analysis is required.
 No experience is necessary, but the successful applicant will be a self
 starter with the ability to work independently, accountable, continuously
 learning, and possess effective written and oral communication skills. Duties
 include participation in a wide variety of tasks to learn the full spectrum of
 medical health physics activities. Specific responsibilities will include
 oversight of Nuclear Medicine radiation safety, instrument quality control,
 laboratory audits, and participation in emergency and brachytherapy on-call.
 Salary and benefits are competitive.

 Rochester, population 70,000, is located in southeast Minnesota, 90 miles
 southeast of Minneapolis/St. Paul, 20 minutes from trout streams, and 1 hour
 from the Mississippi River. Mayo Medical Center employs 17,000 people
 including 2000 radiation workers, has active Nuclear Medicine, Radiation
 Oncology, and Radiology programs and maintains an active biomedical research
 program.
