Re:: IH/HP question

 I've have also been following the HP/IH "conversation" and would like
 to put my 2 cents worth in as well, so please bear with me.

I did my base training as a chemist did post graduate training and
practical training as an occupational hygienist (a substantial part
of the course is on radiation - 1/8). My job requires me to also act
in radiation safety and I have had no problem with this with some
extra brushing up and a chance to get practical experience.

There appears to be a major demarcation issue in the USA. We do not
have a big group of either Hygienists or Health physicists in
Australia (and there is a lot of crossing over). It appears from the
latest comments made in response to Scott Crails comments that your
hygienists no longer receive training or certification on radiation
safety.

I believe the cross over of training either way should be
easy as long as the person chosen as a reasonable hard science
background before either specialization.

These are just my opinions.
