RE: Micro-Roentgen Radiation Monitor -> PC Interface

This NOT an endorsement of the following item but -

I purchased one of the RM-60 detectors for personal use (yep, it's a $150
toy and a computer toy at that!). Although its reportedly calibrated to
Cs-137 and displays results in uR/h, I would not use it as a calibrated
instrument. The RM-60, however, is an excellent choice for demonstrating
ambient radiation levels, decay (in theory), distance, and shielding
concepts to science teachers and students. Even my mother was impressed
when I showed her that paper would stop Th-230 alphas. Aware Electronics is
on the web at http://www.aw-el.com/

As for the propaganda, even Atlas had his burden. I do not think that all
the HPs can easily change public opinion and preconceived notions of
radiation hazards.

and since I am a Fed -- the usual disclaimers apply

Has anyone on RADSAFE heard of this (Model RM-60) instrument ?

I believe the manufacturer is "AWARE Electronics".
