I have prepared a proposal, which I will submit to a local Los Alamos
committee in May, to develop a new (revolutionary?) approach to the
epidemiology of very low doses (<< 1 rem/y).  While Bernie Cohen has done
an excellent job, his work on radon does not determine the shape of the
dose-response curve or demonstrate a threshold, and is therefore sometimes
ignored by epidemiologists.  I believe that I can calculate the shape of
the dose response curve, and therefore demonstrate whether there is a
threhold, by using a Monte Carlo calculation combined with chi-squared
minimization.
