Hi All Radsafers:

The State of Texas will soon be posting a position for a Health
Physicist in Mammography - Mammography Technical Review Project Team
Leader in X-Ray and Non-Ionizing Inspection and Enforcement.

The position will supervise the mammography staff in the Central
Office (Austin Texas) working directly with the Deputy Director, X-
Ray and Non-Ionizing Inspection and Enforcement.

Job duties include:  advanced technical review of mammography
inspection reports and MQSA reports submitted by 16 regional x-ray
inspectors and 6 MQSA inspectors to produce highly advance technical
compliance correspondence; performance of advance technical
inspection of mammographic systems to evaluate and ensure compliance
with the Texas Regulations for Control of Radiation (TRCR) Note: Very
similar to MQSA Interim Mammography Rules currently in effect;
training of regional and central office inspection staffs in
mammography proceedures - to include equipment base, processor QC and
review of physicist reports.  Plans and conducts formal training
throughout the State of Texas; and coordination of mammographic
enforcement actions, when/if necessary.

Job involves travel of up to 35% day and 10% overnight.

Job requires a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or
university plus 4 years full-time experience in radiation control or
mammography functions.  Current registration as a Radiologic
Technol;ogist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
(ARRT) may be substituted for sixty (60) semester hours (2 years) of
the required education.

Prefer experience in mammographic x-ray with registration as an ARRT-
M.  Experience in the use of a personal computer with WordPerfect and
FoxPro.  Must provide own transportation.

Approximate salary: $36,108 per year plus full state benifits
package of paid vacation, sick leave, health coverage package, etc.
