Re[2]: FIDDLER

The "Fidler" is available from Bicron Instruments. The telephone
number is (216) 564-2251. They are located in Newbury Oh. The device
consists of a 5" Pm tube with a thin NaI detector in front of it.

This was an instrument commonly used in the military to conduct field
surveys for the purposes you described. I would contact an RSO at a
nearby military installation as a potential lead.

I am posting this message to radsafe for Jim Hardeman. Their server is
down.

Jim is seeking information on the "Fiddler" survey meter. Is this
instrument available to purchase? Does anyone have one or more to loan
to Jim? If I remember correctly, the "Fiddler" was a thin crystal
detector used to monitor Pu or U contamination. Any information
regarding this subject will be of help for Jim. Jim's e-mail address is:

jim_hardeman@mail.dnr.state.ga.us

You may post information to radsafe for all to see if others might want
to learn about the "Fiddler". If Jim's e-mail bounces, you may send
responses to me at: jjames@nando.net

Thanks for all the help from radsafers.
