Re[2]: Newspaper Story About Soviet Pu Workers in 40's and 5

A colleague mine has a number of papers on Occupational diseases from radiation 
exposure at a nuclear facility (Mayak) in the USSR.  This was a plutonium 
processing plant.

The US Department of Energy held a Workshop on the Health Physics of Plutonium 
at Washington D>C> in February of this year.  There is to be one or more papers 
in the proceedings on USSR experience.  To my knowledge, the proceedings have 
not yet been published. The one I have seen is by Nadezhda D. 
Okladnikova and discusses Pu pnemosclerosis.  Same author has also published 
another paper in "the Science of 
the Total Environment" 142 (1994) pp9-17, titled "Occupational diseasesfrom 
radiation exposure at the first nuclear plant in the USSR."
