The US Air Force is reviewing the use of a brine cell system to destroy
residual organic solvents, such as toluene, on cellulose wiping
materials (laboratory wipes, cotton rags, et cetera). Other than the
radiological components of the waste stream, we question: 1) what would
be the chemical and physical waste products of this system and 2) have
others successfully used this method of destruction for similar
waste(s).

We would appreciate any information regarding this methodology for mixed
waste treatment the radiological community may have. Please address
