An efficient particulate filter should give very good protection against
radon effects. The radon gas is not stopped, but it enters and leaves the
body (especially the bronchial region) much too quickly for an appreciable
fraction to decay into Rn daughters while inside. The radon daughters in the
air should be stopped by the filter, and they are what do the damage.
