I am interested in finding out if any of the Health Physics folks here in the
states have had any experience using a "pipe monitor" to obtain release
to unrestricted use of lengths of pipe during decommissioning or similar
work. When I say "pipe monitor,"
I am referring to a peanut G-M probe that may be pushed through
sections of narrow piping that may be a candidate for free release if a
good survey is completed. What I would like to hear about is
(1)where did you obtain the monitor from (vendor)? (2)what was your
experience with using the monitor? (3)what type of hurdles you might
have faced with regulators regarding the use of the "pipe monitor" to
release piping.(4)was your "pipe monitor" an off the shelf item, or custom
made? Any feedback regarding this application would be greatly
appreciated. Please reply to me directly. Please provide a means for me
to contact you if you reply.

Thanks for everyone's help, and best regards.
