Melissa is out of the office today doing some HP work.  When she get's back,
I'm sure she'll rule on the acceptability of this thread.  In the mean time,
could we curtail the discussion about whether this is off-topic?

I have a few suggestions for equally topical threads <toung-in-cheek>:

(1) Hospital closings due to health care reform, since this could impact
some HPs jobs.

(2) Tenure policies, since some radsafers are faculty members.

(3) The state of the construction industry and its impact or industrial
radiography.
