Re[2]: Real-time radiation mapping

     Quit whining.

As far as the real question goes, yes there is such an instrument
which is basically a normal video cameral to show the location and a
collimated detector which is in alignment with the video camera. I
know of someone who used it in a power plant setting and they found it
quite useful. I will look for additional info.

     Sincerely,
     Glen Vickers

Please, radsafers, distribute the news about the video-radiation detector
via radsafe, because I am sure not only I, but thousands of other health
physicists would like to know about the miracle, which will replace our
instruments by which we very time consuming and using a lot of personal
check our rooms for contamination, take soil samples in the field to
determine their radionuclides content, check our food for the Chernobyl
contamination etc. What an exciting outlook for the future - all specialists
will be replaced by a simple camera, operated by persons who do not need to
have a specialized training, but can distinguish different colours.

Sorry, but I simply do not understand how such information can be created!
