Re: Regulatory Definition Within the DOE of a "Radiation Producing
After several days I am surprized at the minimal response
to Mr. Lee's questions. He raised some interesting issues.
Among these :
1. Should the rad worker definition have a dose threshold?
NRC's does not, but then NRC allows a threshold for things
like monitoring and training. What do other countries do?
Should our regulators have a de minimus dose for rad prot
programs?
2. Should natural/Tech enhananced/consumer product radiation
sources be subject to occupational radiation protection
programs? By implication he says DoE is saying yes.
Is this the trend of the future? If you reduce a worker's
radon dose at home should you get credit for this as part
of your ALARA program?
Send your responses to Mr. Lee and let him summarize them
for the net.
A little risk adds spice to life.
