Re: Radionuclide impurities in Therapeutic Dosages
It is molybdenum99, the parent, that can be eluted along with Tc99m under
some conditions. There are regulations controlling the percentage of moly99
that can be present in a dose (cf. 10CFR35). Since Tc99 has such a long
halflife, it's hard to see how there could be significant ingrowth, outside
of a reactor. In any event, the question is about therapeutic dosages. I know
of no therapeutic uses of Tc99m.
