"Threshold" -- The energy level below which the instrument will not count a
pulse. A counter pulse must be big enough exceed the electronic threshold for
the instrument to trigger a count.
"Window" -- Depends. Sometimes it means the energy level above which the
instrument will not count a pulse (i.e., the pulse energy must fall between the
threshold and the window level). Other times it means the energy above the
threshold, above which the pulse is not counted. In other words, in some
applications it means an absolute energy value, in others it means a value
relative to the threshold.
Threshold/Window sets a range of energies that reject pulses below and above
the established levels.
