Objectives:

Solidify public support for nuclear technology,

Promote state-level programs to responsible handle and dispose of low-
level radioactive waste

Stimulate national support for programs to systematically elliminate
excess weapons plutonium and safely dispose of high-level radioactive
waste

Achieve a cohesive, risk-based regulatory regime for all nuclear
technological activities

Realize broad application of irradiation technology to improve food
safety

Foster widespread, affordable, and effective nuclear diagnosis and
treatment of cancer.
