Raabe Chapter Visits

I strongly recommend that everyone take the chance to catch Otto 
Raabe's "Chapter Tour" when he comes around to your local HPS 
Chapters (He is the President Elect of the Health Physics Society).  
He's about 1/3 of the way through the chapters.

One of the main conclusions from his research (Sr-90 and Ra-226 
studies in beagles) is that there is an effective threshold due to 
life span: below a certain dose/doserate, the subject dies of natural 
causes before any radiation induced injury can appear.  The 
statistics are strong and his results correlate very well with the 
radium dial painters and mouse studies.  

Of course, for those interested, his research is also extensively
published.
