Politics, Public Policy and a Kinder, Gentler America

There are three books that I have read from lately that have wonderful
passages on this topic.

Risk Assessment in Setting National Priorities
Edited by James J. Bonin and Donald E. Stevenson
	Plenum Press
p.357 and following: Quality Assurance in Risk Models for
Regulatory Decision Making: Geraldine V. Cox: CMA
p.643 and following: Environmental Radiation Standards and
Risk Limitation: David C. Kocher: ORNL (Hi Dr. Kocher)

	Risk in the Technological Society
Edited by Christoph Hohenemser and Jeane X. Kasperson
	AAAS Selected Symposium 65
p.28 and following: Government Role in Risk Management
p.208 and following: Expenditures to "Save a Life"
	(my apologies to the Authors)

Science Policy, Ethics, and Economic Methodology
	K. S. Shrader-Frechette
	D. Reidel Publishing Company
Chapter 5: Applications of the Aggregation Assumption to
	Technology Assessment and Environmental Analysis
Chapter 6: RCBA and Partial Quantification
Chapter 7: The Problem of Regional Equity

These make excellent bases for responding to DSI-12 "Risk Informed,
Performance-Based Regulation.
