1.  Radiation safety has not been a concern at the 
food irradiation facilities I am familiar with. In fact, radiation 
exposure is minimal to those who operate the equipment.

2. There is no other reliable non-radioactive option that provides 
the same expected results.

3. When weighing the benefits and the consequences, I'll take the 
irradiated food, as a consumer or as an opertaor when compared to the 
risks that we currently face in processed foods.
