Hmmmmm, I wonder if there was conscious thought given to the choice of the
acronym 'PET' to make that terrible positron stuff (that's ANTI-MATTER isn't
it?) seem 'friendly', in similar fashion to the removal of the N-word from
Nuclear Magnetic Resonance imaging.
Can you imagine something called "Anti-matter-emision-anihilation-gamma ray
" scanner (this is probably not even close to what a PET scanner does, but
hey it's Friday !!!!!)
