The Fake Virus Site

To All My Friends:

I have received mail from you (or your sites) with "posts" that indicate a
"fear" after receiving a "VIRUS ALERT" from one of mailing lists you may
subscribe to. AOL members tend to get spammed with these "warnings". They
are generally FALSE!!! and should not have been posted in the first place!!!!

This site list all of the "fake" virus notices floating around. The general
gist is that viruses can't (currently) be sent by email....they can and are
included as attachements to email. Simply opening the email won't open the
virus but opening the attached document might...depending on your antivirus
protection level.

In another sense they are viruses because notices about them jam bandwidth
on the net!!!.
