Manager, Environmental Services  Section
Yale University - Office of Environ. Health and Safety [OEHS]

Reports to Director OEHS and is responsible for the overall management of 
the collection, processing and disposal of hazardous chemical, regulated 
biomedical and low level radioactive waste generated at Yale University.

Directs the activities of two managers and five technicians in a 
comprehensive waste management program containing a decay in storage 
facility, and analytical labs that include alpha, and gamma spect systems, 
proportional counter, well counter, etc.

Works in close cooperation with biological, chemical and radiation safety 
program managers within OEHS to coordinate technical and professional 
aspects of waste management programs.

Minimum requirements are a Master's Degree in related field of environmental 
science or public health.  Six years relevant managerial experience or an 
equivalent combination of education and experience, and knowledge of 
pertinent EPA, NRC, OSHA, DOT and other federal and state regulations. 
 Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.  Applicable 
certification is an appropriate professional field is highly desirable.
