  The following is an announcement for the next meeting of the 
  Baltimore-Washington Chapter of the Health Physics Society.  If you are 
  in the Washington D.C. area, or will be on March 5, please come by!

       Potomac Chapter of the American Industrial Hygiene Association

  Subject:      HEALTH PHYSICS AND INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE:
                THE "GOOD WILL VALUE" OF REGULATORY PROGRAMS
  
                "Good Will Value" is a term used in the accounting 
                profession to reflect the additional value of an activity 
                that is above and beyond its actual dollar cost.  In the 
                current climate of down-sizing and out-sourcing, the 
                ability to describe the value of these regulatory programs 
                is becoming more and more important.
  
                In addition, several universities are combining their 
                Health Physics and Industrial Hygiene educational programs. 
                Comments on this trend and its impact on the need for 
                cross-training between the two professions will be 
                discussed.

  Reservations: Call the Chapter telephone, (301) 949-4178 and leave your 
  name and telephone number.  Please speak slowly and distinctly so that we 
  can type the reservation list from the recording.  Reservation cut-off is 
  noon Monday, March 3.  Cancellations must be received at least 24 hours 
  prior to the dinner or you may be required to pay for the meal.  Indicate 
  if you need directions to USUHS.
  
  Bob Emery is an active member of the Health Physics Society and has 
  presented several continuing education courses for the ABHP at the 
  National HPS meetings.  Bob is originally from Hyattsville, Maryland.
