Re: depleted uranium ammo



The doserate at contact with a depleted U source of infinite density, ~1/8
inch, is 230 mrad/h, essentially all of  it due to betas (minor xray
component), Emax=2.3MeV. Thus an 80h exposure would result in a dose of 18.4
cGy (rad), neglecting any attenuation by the cladding (of which I shall not
guess at the composition).
