Radsafers,

Just a local anecdotal report on this issue (which as
Sandy noted in his recent post aired Monday,
February 24, 1997).

The cancers near TMI (Wing) story was briefly reported
on KRON (Channel 4, San Francisco) with the News
Anchor, Pete Wilson (no, not the Governor of California!)
adding to the report on Wing's findings an interesting
caveat: You should be aware that the people issuing this
report are also involved in a law-suit against the operators
of TMI (more or less a quote, the transcript may be on the
KRON web site).

I felt the short-shrift and the caveat given the report are once
again indicators that the media (or at least some of it) are not
necessarily ready to run amok on every radiation-related story
and that the sources are getting (more apparently) skeptical
scrutiny.

To that extent, some positive trends are flickering out there...

My opinion only.
