Re: Airborne

What you're looking for is the "resuspension factor," "K":

K = chi/C, where chi is the airborne concentration and C is the areal
concentration of the material on the ground. If chi ~ Ci/m3 and C ~ Ci/m2,
then K ~ 1/m. This is affected by particle size as well as traffic on a
surface. It is also affected by air movement. Typical values are in the range
of 2E-6/m to 2E-10/m. This is discussed in John Till and Robert Meyer's book,
"Radiological Assessment," NUREG/CR-3332. See chapter 5, "Terrestrial and
Aquatic Food Chain Pathways," by Harold T. Peterson, Jr.

I am looking for information (books, charts, etc.) which helps relate the
amount of fixed or loose contamination on a surface (Floor, equipment etc.) to
the amount that will go airborne during different types of work (walking,
cutting with saw, grinding, welding). That you in advance for your help.
