RAPID RADIOACTIVITY MEASUREMENTS IN EMERGENCY AND ROUTINE SITUATIONS

Second Conference Announcement and Call for Abstracts

National Physical Laboratory, UK, 15-17th October 1997

This conference addresses the rapidity of the techniques used for
radiochemical analysis and radiometric measurement and how these differ
from conventional methods of analysis in the environmental, nuclear,
medical and other industries.  Session topics will include;

instrumentation; in situ measurements; rapid radiochemical methods;
laboratory set up; rapid measurement techniques; information networks;
dissemination of information.

Papers presented at the conference will be published in a special
issue of Radioactivity and Radiochemistry' in early 1998.

The conference is being organised with the co-operation of the;

International Atomic Energy Agency,
International Committee for Radionuclide Metrology,
Radiochemical Methods Group of the Royal Society of Chemistry, and
National Physical Laboratory.

The National Physical Laboratory (NPL) is the UK's national standards
laboratory and maintains the primary measurement standards for the most
important physical quantities (eg mass, length, time, ionising
radiation). The NPL internet address is http://www.npl.co.uk/
