John, Environmental Radioactivity by Merril Eisenbud states "The annual cosmic-ray dose is about 28 mrem at sea level.....Residents of Denver (altitude 1600m) receive nearly twice the dose at sea level, and in Leadville, Colorado (altitude 3200m) the residents receive about 125 mrem/yr from cosmic rays...."
