Gentle readers-

I realize most of us HPs come from a practical background,
and would rather do a measurement than depend upon a
calculator, but (as a gentle reminder) I would point out that your
measurement is only good for the current, specific situation but a
measurement backed by a calculation can be generalized to a broader class
of situations.  So if it is a one-time problem the measurement is the
quick answer, but if it is a continuing situation it should be
analytically studied.
