        Dear Steve,

About 10 years ago we had a problem with salt-loading of air
filters at the Wipp. We published the results on the
degradation of the alpha spectra in the paper: Seiler, Newton,
and Guilmette, "Continuous Monitoring for Airborne Alpha-
Emitters in a Dusty Atmosphere," Health Physics, 54, 503-515,
1988. I hope it helps,

Fritz Seiler
