POSITION TITLE: Assistant Radiation Safety Officer (Health PhysicistIV)
SALARY: $31,631-$41,546
UMAB's Department of Environmental Health & Safety seeks an
Assistant Radiation Safety Officer. Duties include performing
surveys and investigations of activities involving radioactive
materials and radiation producing devices; preparation of technical
reports; maintenance of essential records and files; analyzing and
solving a wide variety of technical and regulatory issues involved
in teaching, research and medical uses of ionizing radiation and

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Duties include performing surveys and
investigations of activities involving radioactive materials and
radiation producing devices; preparation of technical reports;

related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: Requires bachelor's degree in Health Physics or a
minimum of 30 semester credits in mathematics, or biological or
physical sciences and three years of full-time professional
experience, or it's equivalent in a Health Physics program. A
Master's degree in one of the fields referenced above may be
substituted for one year of experience. A doctorate degree in one
of the fields referenced above may be substituted for three years of
experience. The selected candidate may be required to work with
asbestos and hazardous materials and must accept such assignments
after proper training, medical approval and equipment provided. A
Physical examination will be required. A detailed job description
