I didn't see the original posting, but I assume that it asked about wall
racks on which people could keep their badges, when they were not being worn.
This is a good idea because it increases the likelihood that the badge will
be kept in a normal background area, and with a control, when it's not worn.
It also makes them much easier to exchange.

I suggest that you give the project to your house carpenters. Most shops
usually have at least one creative person who's interested in offbeat things
to do. Ours did a great job, we now use the racks all over. I can send you a
picture, if you'd like.
