Washington Post 6/7/97

In the Monday Post Style section is an article about
a person swimming the length of the Mississippi.
One sentence asserts that the last portion cannot be
tranversed because of 'pollution' (my quotes) from
a nuclear power plant. Does anyone have any data
or information on which this assertion might be based?

Just curious.
