Re: ? renal scan dose



A GM counter screaming ... the person is "quite hot" ...what a good 
indicator!!! And I bet the meter was calibrated (maybe calibrated) 
with a high energy photon, like Cs-137, or even Co-60!!!

This is from one of my old reference books, CRC Manual of Nuclear 
Medicine Procedures, 2nd Edition, 1973:

Tc-99m-iron-ascorbate-DTPA
75 uCi/kg body weight. Maximum dose of 5 mCi

Dosimetry:

Total body:  0.012 mRad/uCi
Gonads:        0.012 mRad/uCi
Kidneys:      0.265 mRad/uCi
Bladder:       0.293 mRad/uCi
