Re: LSC OF Fe55 SAMPLES
Reply to: RE>LSC OF Fe55 SAMPLES
Bob,
I created a LSC standard for Fe-55 and it typically calibrates to an efficiency
between 13 - 15%. I used a 20 ml glass vial with about 10 ml of cocktail and I
am currently using a Wallac 1409-012 LSC counter. Sorry, I did this for someone
else and I forget now what cocktail I used, but it was one of the current
enviro-benign ones.
You might also want to find this reference: "The Counting Efficiency for Fe-55
and othe E.C. Nuclides in LSC", by J. Gibson & M. Marshall, International
Journal of Applied Radiation & Isotopes, 1972, Vol. 23, pp. 321-328.

DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY DATA ON LSC OF Fe55 SAMPLES I NEED EFFICIENCY, TYPE OF
SCINTILLATION LIQUID, AND COUNTER.
BEST INFO I HAVE FROM PACKARD THAT THE EFFICIENCY IS SIMILAR TO H3.
