RE: Management Approval of RWPs

RWPs have several categories of approvals here at the Duane Arnold
Energy Center:

1. Specific RWPs (written for specific jobs) are approved a Health
Physics Team Leader (salaried position). Our HP group is divided into
three teams: Maintenance Team, Operations Team, and Radwaste Team. The
team leader is responsible for RWPs written in their area.

2. Special RWPs (written for work where potential dose rates are > 10
Rem/hr general area) require the Health Physics Supervisor's Approval.

3. The Radiation Protection Manager must approve all RWPs for Very High
Radiation Areas.

4. Routine (General) RWPs are approved by the Health Physics Supervisor.
Rarely are new routine RWPs created.
