The Wall Street Journal included a well written article on food 
irradiation by Elizabeth Whelan entitled "Safe meat:  there is a better 
way" in the editorial section of the paper today (8/26/97 page A16).  
Elizabeth Whelan is president of the American Council on Science and 
Health, in New York.
