Re: Sealed Sources

Albert,
The definition of a sealed source means "any byproduct material that is
encased in a capsule designed to prevent leakage or escape of the byproduct
material." This is according to 10CFR. If you are in an agreement state or
licensing state, this definition will include NARM. Your vial would not
constitute a "sealed source". However, for a containment to be classified
as a sealed source does not require it to meet the requirements of "special
form". Many sealed sources used in industry are not special form.
