DOT Withdraws "Radiation Protection Program" Requirements

Those of us who ship radioactive material should note that, in a "Federal 
Register" notice of September 2, 1997 (Vol. 62, No. 169, pages 46214-46217) 
the Department of Transportation has withdrawn 49 CFR 172, Subpart I - 
"Radiation Protection Program", which had been scheduled to take effect on 
October 1, 1997.
