Degree Requirements Discussion

While I sensed strong feelings pro and con about this issue, even before
Melissa's message it seemed to me that more heat than light was being added
to the debate with each additional contribution. As it continues, if find
that little new is being added to what has already been stated (often
several times). Please, can't we get on with other topics?
