Re: x-ray scanners

Hullo All & Gooday,

Information re scanners which I have so far. I hope you may be able to add
to this..

Siberian Digital radiographic Device. ?? > 100 kVp 3 mm Al + Cu filtered
beam - transmission device.
Digital Image 640 X 640 mm. Pixel Size 0.5 x0.5 mm
Surface Dose (?? skin entrance position in air) 3 to 5 mR. If above guess
is correct effective dose 1-2 mR.

AS&E Body Search may use Z backscatter technique. Only useful for objects
on or near surface .
The Secure 1000 uses similar backscatter technique via 50 kV (?? kVp)
x-ray.
They claim unit meets FDA limit of less than 5 microRem per scan. (this may
be effective dose).

South African Diamond Detection Transmission Scanner uses 120 kVp filtered
beam
Skin Entrance dose less than 1.1 mrem. Effective dose less than 0.6 mRem.

Is anything better available.

Best Regards
