Re: Pu Toxicity

For those of you who aren't HPS members, and for a few who are, G. Voelz has
another excellent article in the October issue of Health Physics, regarding the
long term health of Pu workers.  Its bewildering why Voelz's studies are not
known and used more widely when dealing with critics and the media.  While the
usual cautions should be used in describing  studies of the health of 26 Pu
workers (median age now is 72, the age range from 69 to 86), these  certainly
put the lie to the notion that Pu is the the deadliest substance known.  The
workers have been monitored for Pu for 50 years.
