Re: 60 Minutes - 20 min Cassini Hatchet Job

Hello!
There was someone looking for a copy of that video. I don't have the
address or the person, but if you post it it'll fetch you a nice thank yo
letter. He said that he would pay for the copying process. Good luck ....

Hi Radsafers,

Well I was waiting expectantly and got what I expected. The Cassini piece was
run last night on 60 Minutes.

I would say that at least 75% of the air time was devoted anti-nuke messages by
Dr. John Goffman, the other Professor from CUNY and the ex-NASA range safety guy.
Dr. Goffman even got to utter his "You can kiss Florida good-bye" mantra!

They showed lots of rockets exploding on launch and clouds of smoke going out to
sea and back over land.

Steve Kroft (sp?), the correspondent, asked the mayor of the city of Cape
Canaveral if he was going to evacuate his family for the launch. He said that
he wasn't specifically going to do that, but if they had something else to do,
that would be OK.

I also thought it was interesting that the NASA official was questioned on why
did they have an emergency response plan if it was so safe? You just can't win
with these guys!

I watched it last night and taped it. I'm going to have to watch it again
before I compose my protest letter to CBS.

By the way, I heard that the Whitehouse has approved the launch.
