Iodine-131 emergency response

Dear Colleagues,

Is Na thiosulfate the chemical compound of choice for helping to control
volatilization of Iodine 131? For example, if a person ingests a
therapeutic amount and subsequently vomits on a floor, clothing, skin,
etc. and the compound is applied as a mist over the spill.

If so, what concentration should be used? Full strength or mixed with
water? Where can this compound be obtained?

In case of accidental absorption, what agent of choice could be used to
block the thyroid? Where can it be obtained and does this agent require
a physician to prescribe it?

Thank you in advance for your assistance.
