Position:	Radiological Safety Specialist

Under the broad technical and management supervision of the Director,
Office of Radiation Safety Services, is responsible for carrying out the
services in health physics at the University of Medicine and Dentistry
of New Jersey (UMDNJ)-Newark campus.  Audit radioisotopes used research
and medicine, monitor radioisotope labs, assist with the radioactive
waste program, risk communication for R&D and Medical Radioisotope use,
evaluate radiation safety and radiation producing equipment, responds to
radiation incidents, assists in the personnel monitoring program,
conduct pacakge surveys if needed, and performs other related duties as
assigned.

Requirements:

BA/BS required in Health Physics or applicable radiation-related
science.  At least one (1) year of experience in handling and analyses
of radioactive materials.  Familiarity with Academic/Medical Radiation
Safety Program is desirable.  Proven interpersonal skills.
