Well, Monday strikes again, my brain may warm up soon (I hope!).

There was a posting regarding the Th being dissolved by the alcohol.  My 
apologies for not including that as a caution (I'd probably remember that 
AFTER I found the contamination).  

The purpose for the black paint is to contrast the (white) cloud vapor, I 
don't know if the type of paint matters.

The can is assumed to be a #10 (3 lb) can.

I suppose that high test liquor could be substituted for the ethyl alcohol, 
but you might have an "interesting" time explaining the scientific utility 
of a liquor bottle.  Ethyl alcohol may be more potent, but it's a matter of 
perception (sound familiar?).   : -  )
