Deputy Director, Radioactive Materials Inspection

    Performs supervisory and highly advanced radiological 
    environmental quality work as team leader for the Radioactive 
    Material Compliance and Inspection team.  Work consists of 
    formulating policies to meet the Division's goals in the 
    Strategic Plan through working with team leaders of the projects 
    involving inspection of radioactive material licenses, nonhealing 
    arts x-ray registrations, and related enforcement actions and 
    with environmental surveilance.  Develops policies and programs 
    for training of inspection personnel, coordination of regional 
    work loads and inspection due status, federal environmental 
    surveillance contract coordination, establishing responsibliity 
    and authority within the program, review and update of management 
    and inspection manual documents as necessary.  Coordinate 
    Radioactive Materials Inspection Total Quality Management 
    activities for the various projects.  Perform certain employee 
    evaluations and lead panels to fill job vacancies.  Assist the 
    Division Director and, in his absence, act on his behalf.  Member 
    of the BRC's emergency response team for fixed nuclear facilities. 
    Works under direction with extensive latitude for use of 
    initiative and independent judgement.

Health Physicist (Regional Inspector)

    This is primarly a Radioactive Material License inspector 
    position, though may also perform non-medical x-ray and laser 
    inspections.  Also does emergency response.  The position is 
    administratively based out of the TDH Houston Regional Office,
    though physically located in Beaumont.
