Position Openings
The following positons are available to qualifiying individuals:
1. Radiological Controls Engineer
Nuclear instrumentation and health physics background to be used in
analyzing and specifying radiological controls for application on the Yucca
Mountain Project. Area monitors and airborne monitors to be included in
background. Experience in radiation dosimetry calculations required for
calculation of radiation exposure including external and internal doses.
Position could be filled with either nuclear engineer or health physics
personnel. Candidate should have applicable experience with MS Degree.
Duties include the preparation of design analysis and technical reports,
providing input to drawings and development of specifications for
radiological instruments, components, and systems. Activities to be
performed per QA standards. Additional duties include the preparation and
presentation of briefings related to work completed or to be performed.
Must have good communication skills and be willing to relocate to Las
Vegas, NV.
2. Engineer
Engineering background [Mechanical or Nuclear] in the analysis of
contamination and control including use of Computational Fluid Dynamics
computer codes [CFD] for application on the Yucca Mountain Project.
Analytical skills to be used in the calculation of consequence of fission
product release. Should have strong background in computer usage and in
application in CFD. Candidate should have applicable experience with MS
Degree in related field. Duties include preparation of design analysis and
technical reports, providing input to drawings and development of
specifications for safety related components and systems. Activities to
be performed per QA standards. Additional duties include the preparation
and presentation of briefings related to work completed or to be performed.
Must have good communication skills and be willing to relocate to Las
Vegas, NV.
3. Shielding Design Engineer
Shielding analysis involving neutron and photon scattering using
sophisticated computer codes for application on the Yucca Mountain Project.
Candidate should have applicable experience using the MCNP and SCALE
computer codes and with MS Degree in engineering. Design activities
include the development of radiation shielding specifications and analysis
of radiation safety issues related to structures, components and systems.
Duties include preparation of design analysis and technical reports,
providing input to drawings and development of specifications for shielding
and radiation safety related components and systems. Activities to be
performed per QA standards. Additional duties include the preparation and
presentation of briefings related to work completed or to be performed.
Must have good communication skills and be willing to relocate to Las
Vegas, NV.
