K-40 concentration in seawater -Reply

We typically see 300-400 pCi/l of gross beta in seawater,
which we assume to be predominantly K-40, in samples
collected around Naval Submarine Base, Kings Bay. I'm sure
that we have gamma spec results for K-40 as well, we just
don't normally report them. Perhaps the folks at our lab at
Georgia Tech could give you better info.

Does anybody have a quick value for the typical natural
activity of K-40 in seawater?

thanks in advance
