Job Title: Radiation Analyst
DOE "L" clearance is required to start!
Job Description: Responsible for operating a laboratory to
characterize health physics samples for a wide range of radionuclides.
Perform sample preparation and analysis, setup and operate nuclear
instruments, develop new procedures and revise existing ones, perform
in-situ measurements, use computer codes to model and perform routine
laboratory operations.
Required Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: Five years of experience with
radiation measurements, Extensive experience with laboratory nuclear
instruments, Computer literate, Good communication skills, and
Familiar with chemical, biological, and radiological hazards.
Desired Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: Self motivated, customer
friendly, Fork lift operations, and OSHA training.
Required Education/Training/Licensing: B.S. in a technical field.
Desired Education/Training/Licensing: M.S. in Health Physics, safety,
or a related field.
Job Title: Laboratory Radiochemist
No clearance is required.
Brief Job Description: Responsible for operating a new laboratory to
characterize waste and health physics samples for a wide range of
radionuclides. Perform radiochemical sample preparation and analysis,
setup and operate nuclear instruments, develop new procedures and
revise existing ones and perform routine laboratory operations.
Required Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: Ten years of radiochemistry
experience, Extensive experience with laboratory nuclear instruments,
Excellent laboratory skills, Computer literate, Good communications
skills, and Familiar with chemical, biological, and radiological
hazards.
Desired Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: Self motivated, Customer
friendly, Analytical experience, Fork lift operations and OSHA
training.
Required Education/Training/Licensing: Two years of college science
education and ten years of experience with radiochemical techniques.
Desired Education/Training/Licensing: Two years of college science
education.
Both positions are for an expected duration of 2-3 years. The
